NORWOOD— On March 15th 2009 at the age of 84, Susan (Sue) Clemmer Andrews passed away peacefully at Davis Regional Medical Center after a year long period of declining health. Sue was a long time resident of Hamlet, Norwood, and Reidsville North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Arbuth Lee Clemmer and Lillie Jerman Clemmer.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband W. J. (Bill) Andrews Jr. and her sister Annie Holden Nehls. She is survived by her sons W.J. (Bill) Andrews III and his partner Steve Carter of West Jordan, Utah, and Alan Lee Andrews and wife Dianne of Statesville NC. She is also survived by four wonderful grandchildren, Karen Hayworth Perrow and husband Charlie of Harmony NC, William Joseph (J) Andrews IV and wife Kristy of Burlington NC, Meredith Andrews Boggs of Statesville NC, and Kelly Andrews Powers and husband Bob of Villa Rica, Ga. , as well as nephew Robert Nehls and wife Ann of Hickory NC. Sue was blessed to have five fantastic great-grandsons, Austin Rash, Matthew Rash, Alex Boggs, Hunter Perrow, and Orion Powers.

Besides family, Sue had a huge amount of friends, but none more special than Sara Cox of Albemarle NC and Mary Ethel Clayton of Norwood NC. Sue was employed for many years by the WR Bonsal Company and the cities of Hamlet and Rockingham. Sue enjoyed many types of outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, boating and riding motorcycles. But she enjoyed nothing more than talking with family and friends and telling a few jokes. She truly loved life and enjoyed every day she lived.

The visitation will be held at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood, NC on Wednesday, March 18 from 1 to 2 p.m. with a memorial service to follow in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville NC 28625. The family would like to express their deepest thanks and appreciation to the third floor nurses, CNAs and doctors at Davis Regional Medical Center and to the staff and volunteers of Hospice of Iredell County. Their care and support during this difficult time was truly appreciated by the Andrews family.

Arrangements for Mrs. Andrews are in the care of Edwards Funeral Home of Norwood NC.
