Friday, I attended the “Salute the Veterans” function at the Hospice on Highway 1 North. I saw lots of fellow veterans, including many who had taken advantage of the Rotary program in which World War II vets were carried to Washington to see the Memorial honoring them.
The Black Knights parachute-in was exciting and enjoyed by all. The music by the band was great. Major Chagaris’ remarks were very enjoyable and well-received. The meal provided by Hospice and all of the in-kind donors was very good and much appreciated.
All together, Mary Ellen Shea, Hospice Director, and her staff and volunteers did a super job of their “Salute to Veterans.”
