Lynda Davenport, Administrative Assistant of First Baptist Church of Hamlet for the past 41 years, retired on Oct. 31, 2012. Mrs. Davenport’s work spanned the tenures of three pastors. She was hired during the ministry of Rev. Billy Rivers. She continued her work with Rev. Julian Clark, and for the past 20 years, she has worked with Rev. Randy Bishop.
She has been a central part of the life and ministry of First Baptist Church for almost a third of its life as a congregation. With her kind spirit and beautiful smile, Davenport has helped foster love and unity throughout the congregation. She has been a loyal supporter to all the pastors with which she has labored.
Though no longer an employee, Davenport will continue to worship and serve the First Baptist Church family.
