Representing Northside Volunteer Fire Department of Rockingham, Edward Causey II and Matt Gulledge were recognized for completing National Junior Firefighting Academy in Monroe. Out of 100 junior fire fighters, the two were awarded first place in search and rescue. They had hands on training in which they had to find the victim hidden in the dark and bring them to safety.
