Tonya Whitt-Harrington, 51, of Hamlet, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Duke-Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh.

Homegoing Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Hamlet.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Nelson Funeral Service of Rockingham.

Whitt- Harrington was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Hamlet. She was employed with Richmond County Schools as an At-Risk Specialist. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willie and Maggie Hagans, as well as her uncles, Willie Hagans Jr. and George Hagans.

She is survived by three children, Darien Harrington of Hamlet, Dorien (Chasity) Harrington of Rockingham, and Dameka Harrington of Middleburg, Fla., parents, James and Shirley Hagans Whitt, three sisters, Beverly Whitt of Rockingham, Vermell Medlin of Hamlet, and Ericka Whitt of Hamlet, as well as six grandchildren.

Nelson Funeral Service of Rockingham, is in charge of the arrangements.
