A section of Long Drive in Rockingham will be closed next week to allow N.C. Department of Transportation crews to repair a pipe under the roadway, according to officials at NCDOT.
The closure, located between U.S. 74 Business and Mill Road, will be in effect from 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 24, until 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept, 28, weather permitting.
A 2.8-mile signed detour will be in place. Motorists will be directed to use Mill Road, Biltmore Drive and U.S. 74 Business to get around the closure.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
