Savannah L. Bowman of Ellerbe and Luke T. Shield of Little River, S.C., were married Jan. 13, 2012, in Horry County. The couple celebrated with a wedding ceremony on July 28, 2012, at Lightkeeper’s Village in Little River, S.C.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Terrie Bowman of Ellerbe. She is the granddaughter of Tommy and Rachel Bowman of Ellerbe and Joyce Foster and Bobby Wilkes of Norman. Savannah graduated from Richmond Senior High School in 2011 and graduated from Miller-Motte College of Wilmington in 2012 as a Phlebotomy Technician .
The groom is the son of Alan and Yvonne Shield of Little River, S.C. Luke graduated from Oak Ridge Military Institute in Oak Ridge in 2007 and is currently serving in the United States Coast Guard.
During the ceremony, the bride was escorted down the aisle by her father.
Beth Shepard of Hamlet served as the matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Cory Moore of Cordova and cousin of the bride, Vickie Cooke of Hamlet.
The groom chose Ryan Steiger of Florida as best man.
Father of the groom, Alan Shield of Little River, S.C., and Dalton Bowman of Ellerbe, brother of the bride, served as groomsmen.
Zane Cipriani and Lane Cipriani, both from Hamlet, and cousins of the bride were ushers.
The ring bearer was Dane Cipriani of Hamlet, cousin of the bride.
Kaydence Cooke of Hamlet, cousin of the bride, served flower girl for the wedding ceremony.
Presiding over the guest registry and serving the cake was Megan Rose Kidd Lagos, cousin of the bride, of Fort Bragg.
Music for the ceremony and reception was provided by Stewart Niemyer of Hamlet.
A reception was hosted by Alan and Yvonne Shield, parents of the groom, at the Lightkeeper’s Villiage Club House. Family and friends enjoyed dinner and dancing. The couple shared their first dance to the song “God gave me you” by Blake Shelton.
The couple’s station/ residence is unknown at this time.
