Dear Editor,
I am guessing from all the letters that I wrote concerning NO HOMELESS SHELTER for women in this county that I offended many Christians and churches, which has moved my singing ministry to other counties.
“Tired of Livin Unforgiven.” Great song and I sat around and felt sorry for myself for a long time and kept my mouth shut.
In that time God has still had this so very heavy on my heart. I know there are people who have a hard time sleeping at night knowing there are countless women in this county with no place to lay there heads and feel safe.
The only difference is I still am not afraid to “offend” anyone on this matter. When I asked the churches to open the doors of their Fellowship Halls at night and ask them to call me when they did, no calls! I asked them to throw down blankets or cots or nothing at all, to just let them feel safe. I got back answers online by “usernames” saying the homeless were drunks, addicts, prostitutes and those who just did not want to work so therefore it was their fault.
I mentioned the huge ministry the churches would have, being able to reach those who normally they would not be able to reach otherwise.
If I had the money or the means to buy a place, the doors would never close and every person that walked through would only feel the love of Jesus Christ, not judgements of any type at all. I still dream of that place.
I am tired of religious correctness! To those who feel they would like to say something but are scared to offend anyone … like their church or other churches, I say be BOLD for God did not give us the spirit of fear.
As a Christian, our hearts are filled with love … but I see love missing for those who are in trouble. The saying, “What would Jesus do?” seems cheesy to some but as a Christian, I have to think that way because I want to be more like him everyday.
If you want to know more about me, ask me and I will tell you my every failing through my walk with Jesus. If you can open a place or have the means and are not just “talk,” please call me. People are “broken” but they are not trash to be tossed aside. 910-331-8849. God Bless.
