Margaret Denise Crook and Ashworth Lee Speight, both of Rockingham, were united in marriage on May 26, 2012, at Leak Wall Garden. Minister Steven Gilmer officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Darrell and Lily Crook of Lincolnton, Ga. She is a 1994 graduate of Sandhills Community College where she received an Associate in Science of Respiratory Therapy.

The groom is the son of Charles and Sylvia Speight of Rockingham. He graduated from Stanley Community College and is employed as a Physical Therapy Assistant at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.

During the ceremony, the bride was given away by her father. Walt Wood of Rockingham served as the soloist.

The bride wore an ivory gown enhanced with beads along the bodice, and carried blue hydrangeas and ivory roses.

The groom chose Charles Speight as his best man. The bride’s son, Jared Henry of Rockingham, and the son of the groom, Nikolas Daughtrey of Hamlet, served as ushers.

A reception was held at the Rockingham Church of God of Prophecy before a wedding trip to Asheville.

The couple currently resides in Hamlet.
