Early voting for the Second Primary Election began this morning at 8 a.m.
The Second Primary will have a long ballot for Republicans to choose candidates from, while Democrats will vote for one office this time around. A heated contest has emerged between Republican candidates for U.S. House District 8, Richard Hudson and Scott Keadle, who last month requested a run-off.
The Republican ballot will present the offices of United States House of Representatives, North Carolina Lieutenant Governor, North Carolina Secretary of State and North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction, and voters will choose one candidate per office.
The Democrats will vote for the office of North Carolina Commissioner of Labor.
To participate in early voting, head to the Richmond County Board of Elections office at 221 S. Hancock St., Rockingham. For questions, call 910-997-8253.
