John William Potter, 67, of 118 Potter Road, Rockingham, died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at his home.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 18, from 1 to 2 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at Harrington Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held immediately after visitation, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Mike Rankin officiating.
Potter was born June 17, 1944, in Carter County, Tenn., son of Alfred Taylor Potter and Stella Guinn Potter.
He was an electrician and previously worked for Tartan Boat Company and Burlington Industries.
He is preceded in death by his late parents, Alfred Taylor and Stella Guinn Potter.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Therrell Potter of the home; daughters, Dena King and Angie Strickland, both of Rockingham; brothers, Alfred Taylor Potter Jr., Roscoe Guinn Potter, and Walter Wayne Potter, all of Rockingham; sisters, Helen Boone of Rockingham and Bonnie Overton of Jackson Springs; and three grandchildren.
Harrington Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Potter family.
