Betty Henderson Wooley, 92, of Lynchburg, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012. She was the wife of the late George E. Wooley.

Born in Ellerbe, North Carolina on October 1, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Thomas A. Henderson and Katie McRae Henderson and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas E. Henderson, Clayton M. Henderson; two sisters, Elga Mae VunCannon and Blanche H. Lineberry.

She was retired from Lynchburg Sheriff Department and was a member of Rivermont Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two brothers, Robert A. Henderson, Richard D. Henderson both of Ellerbe, NC; two sister-in-laws, Clara Henderson of Madison Heights, Rebecca Jo Henderson of Ellerbe, NC; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2012 in Virginia Memorial Park, Forest, VA by Rev. Chris Deneen.
