Each year, Richmond County veterans organizations honor past and present service people with a Memorial Day ceremony.
This year, the ceremony will take place at the VFW Memorial Park, off of Caroline Street in Rockingham on Saturday at 11 a.m. Those in attendance will hear speakers and singing. “Taps” will be played on a bugle and veterans will commemorate wreaths to their fallen comrades.
Although observed on Saturday, Memorial Day is Monday.
