David Samuel Richardson, 41, of 1019 Green Lake Church Road, formerly of Garden City Beach, SC died Wednesday morning, May 16, 2012, in First Health Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst, NC.

David was born April 2, 1971 in Moore Co., NC. a son of Samuel Curtis and Judy Sasser Richardson. David was a 1990 graduate of Richmond Senior High School, a member of Murrells Inlet Baptist Church and belonged to the Order of the Arrow (Boy Scouts) and earned his Eagle Scout with Troop 92. David worked in farming and the restaurant business as a cook. David was preceded in death by his father and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S.H. Richardson.

He is survived by his mother, Judy Sasser Richardson, of the home, brothers; Daniel Curtis Richardson of Conway, SC and Dereck Shipp of Ashburn, VA. Also, surviving is his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Sasser of Ellerbe as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A service to celebrate David’s life will be held 4:00 pm Monday, May 21, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Ellerbe conducted by Rev. Kevin Thompson. Burial will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and following services at Fellowship Baptist Church on Wallace Road, Ellerbe.
