Willis and Svea Strong of Rockingham recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
At 6:30 p.m. on April 28, 2012, the couple’s children honored them with a dinner at The Carolina Hotel at Pinehurst Resort. Grandchildren of the Strongs were also invited.
Svea is employed as a guidance counselor at Richmond County Schools and Willis works as a conductor at CSX.
Children of the couple are Russell and Sherry Strong of Troy; grandchildren, Mikayla and Megan; and Karen and Meto Allen of Rockingham; grandchildren, Seth and Kassie.

Willis and Svea were married in Langley, British Columbia, Canada on April 21, 1962.
