Marcella Lavern McDonald and James Albert Townsend, both of Rockingham, announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Robert and Emma Jean Broady of Rockingham and Mr. Albert McDonald of Rockingham. She is a 1985 graduate of Richmond Senior High School, a 1989 graduate of Winston-Salem State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education, and a 2009 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She is currently employed at Mineral Springs School as a 3rd grade teacher.
The bridegroom-elect is the son of the late Willie James and Bernice Broady Townsend of Rockingham. He is a 1984 graduate of Richmond Senior High School and is currently enrolled at Richmond Community College.
A 2 p.m. wedding is scheduled for June 30, 2012, at First United Methodist Church in Rockingham.
