Mrs. Sandra Watson Bailey, 63, of Cary died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, after a 4-year battle with a debilitating disease. She was surrounded by her family at the time of passing. She was born January 4, 1949 in Richmond County, a daughter of John and Billie Watson.
Sandra was a Project Specialist with Biovail Pharmaceuticals and a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Cary. She was devoted to her family. Sandra was the the “glue” that kept all the family together, hosting dinners, cookouts, and birthday celebrations. She was involved in her church, and was still raising her youngest daughter, now twenty-one. Sandra was a bright, happy woman with a kind, compassionate heart. She was, and is, the love of her families’ lives.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 6th at Roberdell Baptist Church in Rockingham with Rev. Chris Smith, Rev. Jerry Turner, and Rev. Mike Eddinger officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 1 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Joel Hamby Bailey; a son, Joel Shannon Bailey; two daughters, Sandi Annette Bailey and Crystal Danielle-Nicolle Bailey; five grandchildren, Connor, Meranda, Dylan, Austin, and Logan Bailey; a sister, Gloria Watson Edwards and husband Dean; a brother, John Howard Watson, Jr. and wife Retta; and nieces, Lisa Edwards Morgan and Ashley Watson. Sandra was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Maude Melton Maness and John Pleasant Maness, Sr.; paternal grandparents, James Garrett Watson and Hattie Covington Watson; and a niece, Angela Watson.
