Practice set for 'The Rock'

ROCKINGHAM - The cars of the CARS Pro Cup Series and the UARA Late Model Series roar into Rockingham Speedway today for practice for Saturday's running of the American 200.

The UARA Late Models will begin their first practice session at noon with the Pro Cup to follow at 1 p.m. Practice will continue until 3:50 p.m.

Friday will be pole day for both series. Both series will have practice sessions beginning at 10:30 a.m. with qualifying getting underway for the UARA at 3:00 p.m. to be followed by Pro Cup at 3:45.

Spectators are invited to come watch for free both days.

The green flag falls on the American 200 at noon on Saturday. The Pro Cup race gets underway 30 minutes after the conclusion of the UARA race.

"We are going to crown a couple of champions on Saturday and our fans are going to see some great racing," said Rockingham Speedway President Andy Hillenburg. "These two series put on a great show and you definitely don't want to miss it."

Seats are still available for the American 200 at Rockingham Speedway. Tickets are $15 in advance at $20 at the gate.

After the American 200, the Frank Kimmel Street Stock Nationals hit the one-mile oval on Nov. 26 for the fourth-annual Polar Bear 150.

NASCAR returns to Rockingham on April 15 for the Camping World Truck Series Good Sam Club Roadside Assistance 200.
