Johnny Richard Gerald Sr., 69, of Rockingham, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 at his home. He was born Sept. 5, 1942, in Richmond County, a son of the late, Juluis Basliy Gerald Sr. and Lessie Ellis Gerald. He worked installing insulation for a number of years until his retirement.

Funeral services will be conducted graveside Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at 12 p.m. at the Gerald Country Cemetery conducted by Pastor Brooks Gale . The family will receive friends following the services.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Cynthia Ann Gerald and Virginia Gerald; eight brothers, Tim, George, Burman, Jimmy, Edward, Sherman, Herman, and William “Bill” Gerald; and two sisters, Frances Gerald Agnello and Rosie Gerald Beaver.

Surviving are a daughter, Laura Sellner of Lakeville, Minn.; two sons, Dale Gerald of Lakeville, Minn., and Johnny Richard Gerald Jr. of Carthage; four brothers, Talmage Gerald of Lexington, N.C., Jack, Ray, and Thurman Gerald all of Rockingham; two sisters, Gloria Gerald of Rockingham, and Tina Jones of Donnelly, Idaho; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
