He was born Jan. 22, 1948, the first son of Priscilla A. Lewis and the late Vogle J. Lewis, Sr. He is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Anne Robinson Lewis; two daughters, Aime McCall and husband Chris McCall of Monroe and Alden Kohl and husband Jon Kohl of Troy; six grandchildren, Whitney and Christopher Morgan, Lacey McCall, and Jordan, Jacob and Gracie Kohl. Following high school he attended Sandhills Community College before joining the U.S. Army where he was trained as a medic and sent to serve as a medical specialist with the 4th Battalion of the 9th Infantry stationed in Vietnam. However, his greatest joys were his family and his church, Zion United Methodist, where he sang in the choir and enjoyed the love and fellowship of his faith family. He will be dearly remembered and sorely missed by all who were blessed to call him friend.
