Rev. Frances Ingram Cole, 84, of Rockingham, died on Monday, April 25, 2011, at University Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Charlotte. She was born on Jan. 4, 1927 in Richmond County, daughter of the late Blanchie Nichols Ingram.

She was educated in the Richmond County Public Schools. She was also a graduate of Hood Seminary in Salisbury. She was a retired A.M.E. Zion Senior Pastor of two churches.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Service in Rockingham. Burial will follow in the Ashley Chapel Church Cemetery, Rockingham.

Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 1 - 7 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Service in Rockingham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willis Cole; her son, Charles A. McClendon; her daughter, Barbara Rae Wall; sisters, Annie Lee Diggs, Julia Ingram, Johnsie Ingram and one brother, Argene Ingram.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonita Cole of Charlotte; fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Nelson Funeral Service, Rockingham, is serving the family.
