I have been reading the recent letters written by a number of (Biblical scholars). I am not so enlightened as they but I would like to make a couple of observations concerning Mr. Godfrey’s recent take on what Jesus did or didn’t have to say about both the Pharisees and the Ten Commandments.
Mr. Godfrey contends Jesus didn’t say anything about the Pharisees or the Ten Commandments. Well, in fact Jesus addressed the Pharisees in John 8:14-29 and 33-59.
In regards to the Ten Commandments Jesus didn’t use the word “ten” but He did use the words Law and commandments. The Law encompasses the Ten Commandments. In Matthew 5:17-20 Jesus mentions both the Law, commandments, and spoke of the Pharisees. Anyone can play with letters of the Hebrew alphabet and the various translation, but the original manuscripts bear the truth.

I will add, however, that God needn't say"10";There were 10 commandments on the two stone tablets.
Once again, very well written letter...thank you.
