Meteorologists are calling the storm a two-sided one: Both wet and wintry. The National Weather Service in Raleigh issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Richmond, Scotland, Moore, Anson, Montgomery, Lee, Harnett, Stanly, Cumberland and Sampson for Monday that stated “Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.”
The same outlook continues for Today until Sunday, and said “Widespread rain is expected Tuesday through Wednesday. Locally heavy rainfall amounts over an inch will be possible... Primarily in the Sandhills and Coastal Plain.”
Today and tomorrow will likely have the most inclement weather of the week. With highs in the high 40s to low 50s, the weather is predicted to clear up by Friday.
Forecasters say Tuesday could see rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible, and Wednesday amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
