Wet conditions postpone Mutt Strutt to June 2

Heavy rain and muddy conditions led a new animal advocate group to postpone an outdoor event, the Mutt Strutt, scheduled for Sunday, May 19.

“Due to rainy conditions Sunday, RCAA has rescheduled the Mutt Strutt for June 2 at Hinson Lake from 1 to 4 pm. Volunteers are still needed for setup and breakdown. We realized that no one wanted to have a muddy dog after the walk, so we rescheduled,” said Allison Sweatt, Director of Richmond County Animal Advocates.

The donation for the walk will be $10, which will be used to aid the organization as it continues to help Richmond County animals. This year’s event has been sponsored in part by the Dieffenbach GM Superstore in Rockingham.

Since its inception five months ago, the non-profit 401c3 says it has helped re-home, rescue, vet and feed more than 100 animals in the county.

To donate to RCAA or contact the group regarding sponsorship or volunteer opportunities, call 910-331-6275 or email to rcaa.shelterme@gmail.com, or mail RCAA, P.O. Box 2652 Rockingham, NC, 28380.
