If people have told you to turn your business into a hobby then the seminar that will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 5 from 9 a.m. until noon may be for you.

The Small Business Center at Richmond Community College will host Russ Seagle, a small business consultant, at a seminar “From Garage to Main Street – Turning Your Hobby into a Real Business” at the Cole Auditorium. A $5 fee will cover refreshments.

Seagle said that striking out on your own doesn’t have to be a frightening experience.

“The problem with turning a hobby into a business is that most people either forget it’s a business, or they forget it’s something they’re supposed to love. Doing one causes you to lose money; doing the other causes you to lose your passion, and that’s far deadlier,” said Seagle.

Seagle said that starting a business out of your hobby can be “an enjoyable, enriching experience if it’s done right.”

This fun, informative seminar will help you evaluate the business potential of your hobby or interest, and you’ll learn how to make money doing something you love.

Seating is limited and preregistration is required. Call Deborah Hardison at the Richmond Community College Small Business Center at 910-410-1687 to reserve your seat.
