A Heritage Pow Wow was held Saturday at the historic site north of Ellerbe off N. C. 73 in Richmond County leading into Montgomery County.

Venders sold food and Native American-related items while Native Americans performed in regalia in a center ring to the beat of drums. D'Angelo Lee, grandson of Larry Rogers of Rockingham, got an Indian painting for his face from a vender from Cherokee. Later he tried his hand, or tested his wind power, firing a dart at a target.
