Willis and Svea Strong
Willis and Svea Strong of Rockingham recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. The couple’s children, Russell Strong and Karen Strong Allen, honored them with a dinner at The Carolina Hotel at Pinehurst Resort on April 28, 2012.
Also present for the celebration were daughter in law, Sherry Strong, and grandchildren Mikayla and Megan Strong, son-in-law Michael Allen and grandchildren Seth and Kassie Allen.
Svea is a retired school counselor and Willis is retired from CSX Corporation where he was employed for 42 years as a freight conductor. Willis and Svea were married in Langley, British Columbia, Canada on April 21, 1962.
