Steagall, Wasko Wed

Shelley Lane Steagall and Brian William Wasko Jr. were united in marriage on June 25, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church in Rockingham. Reverend Dwight Williams officiated.

Shelley is the daughter of Edwin Steagall and the late Rose Ann Steagall. She is the granddaughter of Don and Ginny Steagall of Rockingham; Gwen Webb of Hamlet; and the late Harold Webb.

The bride is a 2008 graduate of University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a BA in Elementary Education. She is pursuing a MA degree in Educational Leadership Studies at Gardner-Webb University. She is currently employed with Brookstone School in Charlotte.

Brian is the son of Brian and Linda Wasko of Dover, Del.. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Wasko of New York, N.Y. and the late Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Cartrette of Conway, S.C.

The groom is a 2006 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a BS in Sports and Entertainment Management. He is currently employed with the Carolina Panthers.

Maid of honor was Michelle Smith of Concord. Bridesmaids were Lauren Bailey of Pinehurst; Kacie Goodnight of Charlotte; Elizabeth High of Columbia, S.C.; Kristen Kelly of Wilmington; Caitlin Pumerantz of Charlotte; Amanda Reopelle of Topsail Island; Megan Riddle of Raleigh; Amy Wasko of Magnolia, Del. and Jenny Williamson Rockingham.

Honorary bridesmaids were Jan Peacock of Raleigh; Mary Peacock of Wilmington; and Jill Simmerman of Chapel Hill.

Best man was Rich Harr of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; Groomsmen were Matt Ferguson of Dover, Del.; Cameron Moss, Birmingham, Ala.; Ryan Padgett of Charleston, S.C.; Geoff Robertson of Washington, D.C.; David Schroer of Columbia, S.C.; and Brent Small of Lexington, S.C.

The wedding reception was held at Richmond Pines Country Club.

After the ceremony and reception, the couple left for their honeymoon in St. Lucia. They will make their home in Concord.
