Sarah Johnson Weatherford, 73, of 112, 4th Ave. Hannah Pickett, Rockingham, died, Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Carolina Medical Center, Charlotte.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Harrington Funeral Home, from 2 to 3 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Carl Moree Jr. officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

At other times the family will be receiving friends at the home of her sister, Cathy, at 112 4th, Ave., Rockingham.

She was born May 7, 1939, in Rockingham, daughter of Thelma Johnson Hayes and Will and Sally Johnson. Weatherford is preceded in death by her late husband, John Franklin Weatherford; and her parents, Thelma Hayes and Will and Sally Johnson.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Owens of Rockingham; brother, Richard Jacobs of Rockingham; sisters, Alice Jenks of Hamlet, Pat Clark of Asheboro, Geraldine Jones of Jamestown, Cathy Chavis of the home and Peggy Barker of Kinston; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
