In an awards presentation that took place at the Building Systems Council’s annual Fall SHOWCASE conference and trade show in Washington, D.C., Ritz-Craft Corporation of North Carolina was awarded the 2013 Jerry Rouleau Award for Excellence in Home Design. Ritz-Craft’s southeast division is based in Hamlet.

Ritz-Craft’s Grand Teton plan won in the category for homes 2,001 to 3,000 square feet. The plan is part of Ritz Craft’s “Lake & Lodge Collection,” a product brochure which was also recognized at the conference as an Entry of Distinction for the Presentation of Home Plans category. The winning Grand Teton was built for home owners in North Carolina by a Ritz-Craft approved builder – Maston Homes of Landrum, S.C.

“Our Grand Teton plan shows that system-built homes can provide an open floor plan with the vaulted-loft, multi-story design elements sought by home buyers on mountain-view building sites,” said Mike Zangardi, Ritz-Craft Corporation of NC General Manager. “By working with an experienced and highly capable building team like Maston Homes, we were able to quickly and cost effectively satisfy the home buyer’s requests for very specific interior and exterior finishes.”

For more than a decade, the Building Systems Council (BSC), a division of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), has promoted excellence in the systems-built industry. The Jerry Rouleau Awards for Excellence — acknowledging building systems professionals in the categories of exceptional home design and marketing materials — are seen as the pinnacle of achievement in advancing the marketing and technology of building systems.

In addition to exposure at SHOWCASE, the BSC winners will be recognized at the International Builder’s Show. Other national exposure will include newsletters, information on the BSC’s website, www.nahb.org/bsc, feature stories on www.nahb.org and through NAHB publications.
