Richard L. ‘Pee Wee’ Griffin Jr., 84, of Rockingham, died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He was born March 26, 1928 in Richmond County a son of the late, Richard L. Griffin, Sr. and Margaret Williams Griffin. Mr. Griffin retired from CSX Railroad as a machinist.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at his home, 108 Colonial Drive, Rockingham. Services will be conducted privately.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Griffin.
Surviving are a daughter, Priscilla Griffin Rishel of Rockingham; a son, Richard L. Griffin. III. of Rockingham; grandchildren, Nikki Wells of Hamlet and Cody Rishel of Rockingham; a great grandson, Dean Wells; sisters, Betty Culler of Jacksonville, FL and Peg Steele of Beeville, TX; and a brother, Vernon Griffin of Lake City, FL
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Samaritan Colony, 136 Samaritan Dr., Rockingham, NC 28379.
