Richmond Community College will welcome a Richmond County native as a new staff member at the beginning of April.
Andy Cagle will join the RCC staff in a new position as the Director of Marketing and Communications.
He comes from the Scotland County School District where he was the Public Information Officer.
President of RCC, Dale McInnis, said when Anne Morris, Director of Public Information, and Jennipher Love, Director of Recruiting, retired, the college decided to integrate the two positions and make a new one.
McInnis said that the college will miss Anne a great deal and that “she did a tremendous job for us for a long time.”
In this new position, Cagle will report directly to McInnis and will be responsible for leading and implementing the marketing and community outreach efforts of the college.
In addition to the work Morris was doing, Cagle will also be supervising recruiters and be in the process of hiring an assistant director to help him in the position.
Cagle graduated from Richmond Senior High School in 1996 and moved on to college at North Carolina State University and The University of North Carolina at Pembroke where he graduated with his undergraduate degree in 2001.
He is currently attending the University of North Carolina for his master’s in technology and communications.
Cagle said being able to work in Richmond County again is “coming home for me,” said Cagle.
“I look forward to working with Andy. We are very excited about having him on board,” McInnis said.
Cagle is married to Ashley Cagle of Ellerbe and they have a 7-year-old daughter named Emma. He said he is a big race fan, he likes to kayak and play the drums.
