Trooper Joel McDonald
Joel E. McDonald of Ellerbe, graduated from the 130th Basic Highway Patrol School on March 1, 2013.
The graduation ceremony was held at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary. Graduates were welcomed into the N.C. State Highway Patrol family after 31 weeks of military-inspired training.
Trooper McDonald is the son of Eddie and Janie McDonald, also of Ellerbe. He graduated from UNC-Pembroke in December 2010 with a B.A. in Criminal Justice. Trooper McDonald will join Troop H of the N.C. State Highway Patrol, which is located in Moore County.
