Ada Dale Cassidy Lewis of Hamlet, and Robert Wayne Meece of Rockingham, were united in marriage March 16, 2013, at Mt. Carmel Free Will Baptist Church, Rockingham. The ceremony was officiated by Minister Mike Childers.
The bride is the daughter of Shirley Barbee Watson and the late James Cassidy of Rockingham. She is the granddaughter of Ada Belle Barbee and the late Leroy Barbee of Rockingham. Dale is a 1975 graduate of Richmond Senior High School and currently employed with Highland Industries, Cheraw, S.C.
The groom is the son of the late Carl Franklin Meece and the late Gladys Goodwin Langley of Rockingham. He is the grandson of the late William and Minnie Goodwin of Rockingham. Wayne attended Rohanen High School and Richmond Community College. He is a retired employee of N.C. Department of Corrections.
The bride was given in marriage by her grandson, Dylan Lewis. She wore a ballet length, chiffon pink, v-neckline, sheath gown of Georgette fabric with a short waisted lace jacket of delicately embossed roses and three-quarter length sleeves. Dale carried a bouquet of white lilies and pink roses.
Linda Honeycutt of Rockingham, served as Maid of Honor. Sarah Sellers and Grace Crenshaw of Rockingham, were the Flower Girls. Sarah wore a three-quarter length pink satin dress with a full white lace overlay. Grace wore a white satin dress with embossed pink roses and a short-sleeved pink jacket.
Kristen Wilkerson of Rockingham, was the soloist for the ceremony.
A reception was held at the church’s fellowship hall.
The couple traveled to St. Augustine and Orlando, Florida for their honeymoon. They currently reside in Rockingham.
