Mrs. Laura Jane Smith, 90, of 110 Derek St., Rockingham, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, in Matthews Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews, N.C.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at 2 p.m . at Philadelphia United Methodist Church with Rev. McLeod officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Tally Watson Services of Rockingham.

Mrs. Smith is survived by 5 daughters and 4 sons; Irene Taylor, Brenda J. Norwood, Laura R. Scruggs, and Donald E. Smith all of Charlotte, N.C.; Deborah A. Pondexter of Matthews; Gregory M. Smith of Rockingham; Stanley Smith of Fayetteville; Stevey Smith of Belleville, I.L.; and Irma L. Conway of Bronx, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

Tally Watson Services of Rockingham is serving the family.
