Dear Editor,
“Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity” — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
President Obama was elected, and folks got mad, and want to take America backwards to the eight destructive years of the Bush/Cheney regime. Cheney allowed energy company officials to dictate an energy policy that pushed us to invade Iraq, a country that posed no immediate threat to us. We’ve spent over $800 billion on that illegal war.
Bush borrowed more money from foreign sources than the previous 42 Presidents combined, and embraced trade and outsourcing policies that shipped six million American jobs out of this country.
You didn’t get mad when the Bush Administration did not catch Bin Laden, but ran up 10 trillion dollars in combined budget and current account deficits. You didn’t get mad with the worst eight years of job creations in several decades, or when over 200,000 U.S. citizens lost their lives because they had no health insurance, or when lack of oversight and regulations from the Bush Administration caused U.S. citizens to lose 12 trillion dollars in investments, retirement and home values.
We let a major United States city, New Orleans, drown and you didn’t get mad. President Bush gave people who had more money than they could ever spend in one lifetime, (the one percent) over a trillion dollars in tax breaks.
Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, job losses by the millions, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, and the worst economic disaster since 1929 are all okay?
We have to get out and vote like we did four years ago. Let’s re-elect our hard working President Obama. A President who decided that everyone in America deserves the right to see a doctor if they are sick and who stands up for 100 percent of Americans all the time.

Nativejustice - wow, I don't even know where to begin. Again, I say you know nothing about me and I will not waste my effort debating with someone who clearly can't or won't listen to an opinion different from your own without reverting to name calling. You go ahead and vote to re-elect the President and, as you put it earlier, "may the Lord have mercy on you and yours", should he win.
While some of the economic practices conducted under the Bush administration may not have been the greatest ideas. Bush was responsible for beginning the bail-out catastrophe with providing TARP funds. Obama, has taken the deficit to all time highs with honestly nothing to show for it. Gas prices are still too high. The price of bread, milk, tobacco, everything are still too high. The value of the dollar will never be as strong as it was during the Reagan Administration.
I can not support Obama for another term. I believe firmly that, when Mahmud Ahmadinejad and Hugo Chavez, two of the greatest enemies of America, are supportive of the President it's a an all-around bad idea. Obama's foreign policy is lax at best, and Romney is still untested as the leader of the Free World. Additionally, until President Obama, no U.S. President has ever bowed to another country's leader.
I personally don't like either candidates. Capitalism and free-trade are hallmarks of the Free World and should have minimal government oversight. Obama's practices are the ground work for a Communist-styled government and, that alone, is un-American. Forcing every individual to have health care is ridiculous and imposing a tax on those who don't have health care is down right illegal. Based on my experience with government-ran health care, you can expect Doctor's and nurses, writ large, to provide minimal help to patients (a common occurrence with military health care providers was provide an individual with motrin and tell them to drink water until things became too severe and required surgery).
For everyone who does read this comment, you can call me a fascist or a bigot or whatever foul word that comes to mind. You aren't going to hurt my feelings at all. Your opinion means very little to me. Unlike most, I actually was able to get out and stay away from Richmond county and know what it's like in a world not surrounded by small town minds and small town drama. This is just $0.02 from someone who has been directly affected by Obama and Bush.
I did respect your opinion before, but not now, it is just a rerun of the FAUX NEWS talking point of the day. Romney's problem is that he does not remember what he said the day before and so on and on and on.
telltales - if you're basing your opinion on soundbites we're in more trouble that I thought. Soundbites (from either side) are useless - they're simply published to extend the argument and try to take focus off of the real issues.
yruatwit - (ignoring your childish name calling because it's not worth commenting on) there is no such thing as a "legitimate" poll - numbers can be skewed to justify any argument. The ONLY poll that counts is Election Day.

Pay no attention to the ignorant simpletons criticizing your comments. Just as Mitt Romney said during his $50,000.00 a plate fund raiser, you'll never convince them regardless of facts or rational critical analysis. You don't have to say another word, the legitimate polls are saying it for you, president Obama has got it in the bag. After the debates, he will widen his lead. What is really causing the moronic simpletons to seethe and foam at the mouth is that they also know President Obama will be reelected. He will also win North Carolina with over 50% of the vote. Romney, Ryan and their campaign need to go ahead and start formulating their plan for alleging the election was corrupt, that it was stolen from them, that somehow the Republican vote was suppressed, that there was a conspiracy of some kind that caused them to lose, etc. Like I said Patti, ignoring the clownish simpletons ranting and raving says more to them than any verbal rebuttal.
But when something like Bin Laden gets caught he wants to take credit. When he took office they had a lot of information for him.
Now getting back to what he has done was take the cost of living raise away from the old and sick that's on SS.He's took cost of living raise from the men That fought for this Country. He gets on Air Force One and just flies anywhere his little heart desire's like me and you would in our little
gas saving cars. Now I'm going to ask you what makes him so Great,Is it because he is half Black?
Be honest with yourself, you are the bigot that you have call everybody in the past.If they are Black vote for them.Vote For the USA and Pray the best Man Win's.
Rather than repeating what the talking heads on CNN or MSNBC spew, how about giving us some provable facts on how President Obama has helped our country?
Rather than just slamming previous administrations, how about showing us how President Obama's 2nd term would be helpful to our country?
You said: "...Let’s re-elect our hard working President Obama. A President who decided that everyone in America deserves the right to see a doctor if they are sick and who stands up for 100 percent of Americans all the time."
Hard working? At what? Golf? Appearing on the View? Dodging important meetings with world leaders...meetings that the world leader REQUESTED!?
By the way, everyone CAN see a doctor if they are sick! How does forcing me to buy outrageously expensive health insurance (or pay a TAX for not doing so)improve your ability to see a doctor?
President Obama stands up for 100% of the people all of the time? Really? When's the last time you heard him defend Christians the was he defends Muslims? Did he stand up for the Christian companies that are now FORCED to go against their beliefs?
I, like you, truly hope that everyone gets out to vote in November, so we as a country can start cleaning up the mess made over the last 4 years!
