Barbara Louise Jenkins Gerald, 68, of Marston, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Brooks Gale officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.

The family will see friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Gerald was born March 29, 1943, in Richmond County, a daughter of the late James David and Wilma Irene Hogan Jenkins. She was the owner and operator of Woodland Crafts Ceramic Shop and had taught oil painting and ceramics at Richmond Community College for 23 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Gerald.

Surviving are her son, David McCroskey of Marston; daughter, Pamela Beachum of Marston; a sister, Brenda Jenkins of Rockingham; one grandchild; 2 step grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
