CHARLOTTE — Butler athletic director Courtney Paschal announced Thursday the Richmond Senior-Butler football game scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Sept. 19 will be played at Providence High School.
The information was first reported by the Charlotte Observer.
Paschal said the contest was moved because Butler’s home field can only seat approximately 2,500 and a larger crowd is expected for the game. Providence’s field, on the other hand, has a capacity of around 6,000.
Paschal added officials talked about Memorial Stadium as the site of the contest as in years past, but the visitor’s portion of the stadium is currently under construction.
