DAVIDSON — For the second time in three days, the Rockingham Pony All-Star team had its game at the South Region tournament postponed because of rain.

Rockingham coach Jeff Ingram said they were nearly halfway to Davidson when officials informed him of the postponement.

Rockingham is scheduled to play High Point in an elimination game at 3:30 p.m. today. The contest has been moved to Huntersville Athletic Park.

Ingram added officials told him McEver Park in Davidson was hit hard by the latest weather system and may not be usable Friday.

DC Force, one of the Davidson teams, will face Southampton-Sussex at 1 p.m. in today’s opening game at Huntersville Athletic Park. Davidson All-Stars will square off with the loser of the DC Force-Southampton-Sussex game at 5:30 p.m. back at McEver Park in Davidson. Chesterfield (Virginia) Baseball Club will await the winner of Friday’s first game at 8 p.m.

If Rockingham defeats High Point, it will return to action 10 a.m. Saturday versus the victor of Friday’s 5:30 p.m. contest.
