Golf team looking for players

Kickoff changed for RSHS opener

Game time for the Richmond Senior-Rocky River varsity football game set for Friday in Charlotte has been changed. Kickoff is now slated for 7 p.m.

Ellerbe gathering youth soccer interest

Officials in Ellerbe are looking to determine the amount of interest in having a youth soccer program this fall for children 4 to 10 years of age. Any interested parents may register their children for the program until Sept. 5 at Ellerbe Town Hall. The cost has yet to be determined. Forms will be available at the schools in Ellerbe. Bowling leagues begin forming

Meetings for winter bowling leagues will be held 7:30 p.m. Aug. 26 and 7:15 p.m. Aug. 28 at Strikers Bowling Center. These leagues are sanctioned by the United States Bowling Congress. The meetings are to see how many teams will be in the winter leagues. Also anyone wanting to start a new team should attend one of the meetings as well as any individuals looking to join a team. The leagues will begin play on Sept. 2. There will be a Tuesday night mixed league with men and women composed of four people to a team. Also a Thursday night men’s league with four bowlers to a team. The men’s league will have a maximum of six teams and currently there are two team openings. In addition there will be a Wednesday morning mixed league for retirees and people who work at night. For information, contact Strikers at 910-895-6655.

Youth golf camp set

Richmond Pines Golf Course will hold a youth golf camp from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday and Thursday. The cost is $100 per child. For information or to enroll, contact Jon Michael Robich at 910-206-8485.

Booster club memberships on sale

Richmond County Athletic Booster Club memberships are now available. The cost is $50 and includes a hat, a parking pass for the Richmond Senior football games and admission to any Raider home athletic event except for football or postseason contests. Memberships are available at Mabry’s Drug in Hamlet, Family Pharmacy and Medical Center Pharmacy in Rockingham and Carolina Farm Credit in Ellerbe as well as the main office at the high school.

RSHS football season tickets available

Richmond Senior athletic director Ricky Young announced season tickets for the upcoming football season are now on sale. The cost is $50 for a reserved seat, $40 for a regular season ticket and $30 for a student season ticket. Reserved seats and reserved parking are only available to purchase in the main office at the high school. The other tickets are available to purchase from the high school as well as Mabry’s Drug in Hamlet, Family Pharmacy and Medical Center Pharmacy in Rockingham and Carolina Farm Credit in Ellerbe.

Tickets for Marlboro game being sold

Advanced tickets for the Richmond Senior-Marlboro County football game on Aug. 29 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina are on sale for $10 at the high school, Mabry’s Drug in Hamlet and Family Pharmacy and Medical Center Pharmacy in Rockingham.
