WADESBORO — Police arrested a Lilesville man on Friday after officers say they found a half-pound of marijuana in his car.

Wadesboro police officers pulled over 34-year-old Jason Omar Sturdivant on U.S. 74 East near Cloud Avenue around 11:18 p.m. on Friday. Police Chief Thedis Spencer said Sturdivant had 223 grams (about 7.9 ounces) of marijuana in the car.

Sturdivant is charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver marijuana, and maintaining a vehicle for storage of a controlled substance.

He was booked into the Anson County Jail in Wadesboro under a $5,000 secured bond.
