A severe thunderstorm dumped heavy rain on Richmond County and temporarily knocked out power in downtown Rockingham Thursday afternoon.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for the county on Thursday, and there’s a 40 percent chance of more rain in Friday’s forecast. Rockingham may see thunderstorms in the afternoon and skies will be mostly cloudy with a high temperature around 83 degrees, according to the weather service.
