ROCKINGHAM — A woman is accused of using someone else’s child support card to go shopping, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say Kamia Lachelle Sloan, 36, of Tillman Road, Rockingham, used a child support card issued to another person without the victim’s permission.
Sloan was arrested Monday and charged with obtaining property by false pretenses. She was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
Court records show Sloan is currently facing charges of possession of marijuana up to half an ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the N.C. Department of Public Safety, Sloan has been convicted on two charges of misdemeanor larceny, eight counts of writing worthless checks and giving fictitious information to a law enforcement officer.
