ROCKINGHAM — Sheriff’s deputies have charged a 31-year-old city man with selling prescription painkillers.


Richmond County deputies arrested Kaslo Deon McKinnon of Hunter Circle in Rockingham in a business parking lot Sunday, sheriff’s Capt. Jay Childers said Thursday. McKinnon was allegedly caught with opioid prescription pills.


McKinnon is charged with trafficking opium, selling or delivering a Schedule III controlled substance and possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule III controlled substance.


McKinnon was confined in the Richmond County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond.


He was previously released in October 2013 after serving four months for a 2010 DWI conviction, according to N.C. Division of Adult Correction records.


McKinnon has also previously been convicted of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, communicating threats, assault on a female and possession of a weapon on campus.
