ROCKINGHAM — A local man is accused of selling prescription drugs, according to Richmond County sheriff’s deputies.

Donnie Lee Parker, 37, of Park Street, was arrested Wednesday after deputies say he sold prescription pills.

Parker charged with possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and was jailed under a $1,000 bond.

Deputies did not specify the kind of pills Parker is accused of selling, but Schedule IV controlled substances include muscle relaxers and anxiety medications such as alprazolam and lorazepam.

N.C. Department of Public Safety records show Parker has three prior convictions in Richmond County for simple assault, obtaining property by false pretenses and communicating threats.
