ROCKINGHAM — Richmond County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man on Moore County theft charges Friday afternoon.
Christopher Eugene Dennis, 39, of 158 Broadway St., faces a count of misdemeanor larceny from July 23 and a count of felony larceny from July 30, according to jail booking records.
Dennis is on probation following June 5 convictions on two counts of misdemeanor larceny in Richmond County. He was released from prison in December 2012 after serving a six-month sentence for felony possession to sell or deliver a Schedule I controlled substance and selling a Schedule III controlled substance.
State records show Dennis has previous convictions of second-degree trespassing, obtaining property by false pretenses, cheating property or services, shoplifting, driving after consuming a controlled substance and several drug offenses.
Dennis has a pending charge of felony larceny in Scotland County and pending charges of misdemeanor larceny, misdemeanor attempted larceny, second-degree trespassing and shoplifting by concealment of goods in Anson County.
He was booked into the Moore County Detention Center in Carthage under an $11,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 18.
