To the editor:
Wow, does that song bring back memories! I heard that old Merle Haggard song, “The Fightin’ Side of Me” on the Mike Huckabee show Saturday night. It took me back to the Vietnam era when so many of our heroes were giving everything they had for our country.
So many gave all they had. Many came back broken, but not bowed. We had people back then just like Obama today who were running down our country. We told them back then, “If you don’t love it, leave it.”
There are ships leaving our country every day that will take them to the Muslim countries. Go live with them a while and then let’s see what you think of America.
Even though Obama has destroyed so much of the pride that Americans have held all these years, we must somehow find a way to get our country back. It can be done in the coming midterm elections in November.
“When you’re running down your country, Hoss, you’re walking on the fightin’ side of me.” I love that song! And thank you for your service. Thank you, all. We haven’t forgotten.
