Federal days cause meetings to be rescheduled

Federally observed holidays on Nov. 5 and Nov. 11 have caused two public boards to reschedule monthly meetings in Richmond County.
The Richmond Community College Board of Trustees meeting has been moved to Nov. 12, pushed back from its original Nov. 5 date due to Election Day. The meeting time remains 7 p.m. in DeWitt 209 in Hamlet.
The Richmond County Board of Education also has moved its meeting due to Election Day. Board members will now meet at 6 p.m. on Nov. 12 at 118 Vance St. in Hamlet.
Despite the two days, other boards’ regular meetings will go on as scheduled.
The Richmond County Board of Commissioners are to meet at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 4 at the Richmond County Administrative Office at 125 S. Hancock St.
The Hamlet City Council meeting is to take place at 7 p.m. on Nov. 12. The meeting will be at the City Hall, which is located at 201 W. Main St. in Hamlet.
The Rockingham City Council meeting will hold its monthly public meeting at its usual time. The meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 12 at City Hall, located at 514 Rockingham Road in downtown Rockingham.
