HAMLET — Hamlet Police Department welcomes two new officers, classmates and graduates from the 2013 Basic Law Enforcement Training class at Richmond Community College.


Stephen Daniels, of McColl, S.C., is a native of Scotland County. He graduated from Scotland High School in Laurinburg in May 2011.


James Hooks IV, of Rockingham, graduated from Forest Hills High School in Marshville in June 2009.


Each BLET graduate who moves on to hold a position in law enforcement must promise to uphold the U.S. Constitution, the North Carolina Constitution and they will have to take the Law Enforcement Oath of Honor.
