ROCKINGHAM — A Richmond County teenager is facing felony and misdemeanor charges in two counties, accused of stealing a vehicle and assaulting a woman in Southern Pines earlier this month.

Toomer is charged with one felony count each of common law robbery and larceny of a motor vehicle, as well as a misdemeanor charge of assault on a female in Moore County.

He is also facing felony charges of possession of a motor vehicle and possession of cocaine in Richmond County.

He is scheduled to appear in court April 27 on the Richmond County charges and May 9 on the Moore County charges.

“This arrest is the result of a comprehensive collaborative investigation conducted by the Southern Pines Police Department and the Rockingham Police Department,” Capt. Charles Campbell of the Southern Pines Police Department said in a release.

Online court records show Toomer has no other pending charges.

Records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction show Toomer has no previous adult convictions in the state.
